Cade's Cove, Smoky Mountain National Park

A cove is a valley. Cades cove was settled in 1821 and at about 1900 there were over 700 people. There were still people living there in 1934 when the national park service took over the land. There are over 80 historic buildings in the park.

The building below is John Oliver's cabin. It was built in the early 1920's it is the oldest cabin in Cades Cove.

The pictures below are of a Primitive Baptist Church. I thought the word primitive we describing the church. But it is not, it's describing the baptist.

This is a small cluster of buildings including a grist mill

It was a beautiful area and some real history
